 Oct. 14:

The building has begun!  You need to make sure that your bridge will correctly span the river, or a potential disaster will be in the making.  Do you remember the building collapse in Minnesota several years ago? Double check to see if the car will go over the bridge and the ship will pass under it.  Your project manager will be taking pictures to record the building of the bridge.  They will be used in a presentation production to be shared during our Bridge Festival.

October 28th = Week #2 (Myers' TARGET)

After examining the different kinds of trusses in class we discovered some interesting facts.

Please answer the following question and post to this wiki.  DO NOT PRINT OUT Your Answer!

QUESTION: IF YOU WERE A BRIDGE ENGINEER WHICH KIND OF TRUSS SHAPE WOULD YOU USE TO BUILD A BRIDGE OF BEAUTY AND EXPLAIN WHY.

If I were a bridge engineer I think I would choose the whippie truss design.
It has beautiful long lines on each side of the deck that can be strung with lights for special events.  Mrs. Myers

I agree with Mrs. Myers. The wippie truss design looks simple enough for me. Like she said it has long lines to string lights on. Shannon

I would build the warren truss because it can be easily built and be easily planned out.I would know because I built one! Kobe

If I were an engineer I would choose the pratt design. It can be used in span up to several hundred feet. Leda

I'm not a fan of beauty so mabe a warren with multi colered lights. Because its so simple, and just some details it will be great. ISH

If I was a bridge engineer, I would do the subdivided warren truss design. That's because it has alot of triangle trusses so the wind can pass. Tiego

If I were a bridge engineer, I would do the warren with vertical supports because there is triangles so the wind could go through an I think it would be safe to drive over. Tyler

If I were a bridge engineer, I would choose the pennsylvania pratt design because it has a cool unique design that is beautiful and looks very safe. Claire

If I were a bridge engineer, I would choose the warren truss because I like that it's just simple and with some details it would be ok. Luis

If I was a bridge engineer,I would choose the pennsylvania[pratt]  because it looks like the sydne harbor brigde's trusses and they are beautiful!  Waleed

If I were a bridge engineer, I would choose Subdivided Warren types because they have a cool pattern and it looks like unusual mountains. Lane

If I were a bridge engineer, I would build the Baltimore [Pratt] because it has a lot of triangles and looks fairly easy to build. Matthew
